Cordial relations to be restored with Afghanistan: Shahjee

LANDI KOTAL: The government is serious to restore friendly ties between the Pakistan and Afghanistan as they enjoyed in past and for the purpose a special committee soon will visit Kabul.

In Senate election the FATA parliamentarians are the one who polled their votes to the deserving candidates without getting a penny from them.

These views were expressed by Member National Assembly from NA-44, Khyber Agency Haji Shahjee Gul Afridi while addressing to the public gathering here at station area of Tehsil Landi Kotal on Saturday.

He said that the incumbent government had constituted a special committee for restoring of relations with Afghanistan that would visit Kabul, via Torkham border and would meet the Afghan counterparts to re-establish friendly ties between the two brotherly countries. “Contrary to Parliamentarians of all main stream political parties in across the country, the FATA Members Parliaments voted to the candidates with consensus without receiving a penny from them”, Afridi remarked.

Setting up a full-fledged University in Landi Kotal had been approved and in near future construction works would be kick off to provide higher education facility to the tribal youth at their door steps he added and saying another electric water pump had been bought with worth of 7.5 million rupees that would be installed next week at Landikhana water scheme to resume water supply round the clock to the dwellers of the area. He maintained that dry port would be erected in Torkham to enhance trading activities at the border

Tribal elders Ahmad Shah Koki Khel, Wakeel Khan and Qari Said Alam Shinwari also spoke on the occasion. The moot was attended by large number of tribal elites and tribesmen from allover of the Tehsil.
