IGP Naeem Khan visits Miran Shah

PESHAWAR: The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Muhammad Naeem Khan today visited Miran Shah, the headquarters of the newly merged district North Waziristan. On arrival to Miram Shah, he was given warm welcome by showering rose petals on him. On this occasion traditional tribal gifts were presented to him. The IGP on this occasion reiterated his pledge that he will equally strive hard for bringing peace and tranquility in the newly merged districts as was being doing in the rest of the province.

The IGP also vowed that all basic necessities of police force would be met on priority basis for ensuring effective policing in the NMDs.

Later on, the IGP hold a meeting with the elders and elite of the area. All heads of different tribes largely participated in the meeting.

The Jirga members informed the IGP that the people of the area had offered many sacrifices for the durable peace of the area and defence of the nation and reaffirmed  their commitment that in future too they will become a stumbling block in the way of the enemies of the state. The Jirga members assured that they will fight shoulder to shoulder with their security forces against the state enemies.

The IGP while appreciating the patriotic spirit of the Jirga members said that the people of the area worked as a first line of defence against the enemies  in every difficult time. The IGP informed the Jirga members that their cooperation would be sought for while adopting steps for maintenance of peace  and their suggestions would be given due importance for this purpose.

The IGP said that it was high time to foil the nefarious designs of the miscreants with collective efforts with iron hands. On this occasion the Jirga members assured their full support for maintenance of peace in the area.

The IGP was also briefed on the security situation of the area.
