KP Assembly condemns derogatory remarks by BJP leader against Holy Prophet

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Friday unanimously passed a resolution condemning the use of derogatory remarks by a ruling Indian BJP leader against the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and demanded complete boycott of India products against the unacceptable act of the BJP spokesperson.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly demanded that the federal government of Pakistan not only seek the Indian ambassador and record a protest with him over the shameful act of the BJP leader.
Minister for Higher Education Kamran Bangash while presenting the joint resolution said that as a Muslim, we cannot accept any kind of arrogance in the glory of our Prophet. He said it was a provocative act by a BJP member.
The House recommended the federal government to cut off diplomatic relations with India besides complete boycott of Indian products until the Indian government apologizes for this shameful move and arrogance and takes action against the perpetrators.
Jamaat -e -Islami female member Humaira Khatoon presenting her resolution said that the Qadianis in Pakistan have been declared as non –Muslims and under the constitution they cannot do preaching or build a worship place like Muslim mosques for this purpose and people belonging to Qadiani sect can live like minorities in Pakistan.
She said that for the past several months, many videos went viral on social media showing Qadianis openly preaching in University Town and Hayatabad areas of Peshawar, and in this regard the prominent Ulemas have asked the government to warn them from doing the unconstitutional act.
On the occasion, the ANP parliamentary leader, Sardar Babak, raised an objection to resolve the issue in the light of teaching of Islam. Later the resolution was passed by the House unanimously.
Meanwhile, the House also unanimously passed a resolution of restoration of Students Unions of Mir Kalam, another resolution of MPA Sahibzada Sanaullah regarding adjustment of Pakistani medical students studying in Ukraine in Pakistani medical colleges and a resolution of Pakhtunk Yar seeking an increase in number of KP Seats in the National Assembly as per the proportion of population.
All the resolutions were passed unanimously by the House chaired by presiding officer Sumaira Shams. Later the House was prorogued.
