KP Food Authority to regulate food business: DG

Peshawar: Upon the Special directives of Director General Riaz Khan Mahsud teams of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority on Saturday carried different operations across all the divisional district of the province.

Abbottabad team led by Assistant Director Adeel Numan, visited different markets and upon violating of food safety standards set un KP Food Safety act 2014 imposed a fine of rupees three lacs and twenty-five thousand against a well-known bakery Shop. He said that Abbottabad is most literate zone where citizens welcome such steps to ensure food safety.

On the other hand, in capital city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assistant Directors Aneela Mahboob and Saira Nisar stepped into Hayatabad in sake of checking shopping and mega malls. Upon violating food safety standards, they imposed a fine of eighty-five thousand against Hyper Mall, Wadud Son’s and D Watson.

Similarly, in Kohat under the supper vision of Deputy Director Kamran Usafzai, Food authority team carried out an operation against the adulterated milk and poured hundreds of liters of adulterated milk. Under his supervision, the team also sealed an ice-cream factory over loose standards. “The factory was situated in in a poor sanitation zone, the pots used were unhygienic and freezers used were full of dirt.
