MQM-P fields 16 candidates for National Assembly seats from Karachi

KARACHI: As the general elections are approaching, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has fielded 16 candidates for the National Assembly (NA) seats from Karachi, on Thursday.

As per the list issued by the party, Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui will contest the election for NA-248, District Central, while Mustafa Kamal and Dr. Farooq Sattar are vying for two NA seats each; the latter for NA-241, District South and NA-244, District West, while the former for NA-242, Keamari and NA-247, District Central.  

Similarly, Arshad Vohra has been named as MQM-P’s candidate for NA-240, District South; Rauf Siddiqui for NA-237; Aminul Haq for NA-246, District West; Asia Ishaq for NA-232, Korangi; Javed Hanif for NA-233, Korangi and Abu Bakr for NA-234, Korangi.

Likewise, the name of Iqbal Mehsud has been finalized as the party’s candidate for NA-235; Hassan Sabir for NA-236; Sadiq Iftikhar for NA-238; Humayun Usman for NA-243, Keamari, Hafeezuddin for NA-245; Ahmad Saleem Siddiqui for NA-249, District Central and Farhan Chishti for NA-250 also from District Central.

However, MQM-P has not fielded its candidate for NA-239, Lyari while the party has entered into a seat adjustment for three seats of Malir namely NA-229, NA-230 and NA-231.
