Nawaz ended menace of terrorism: Shehbaz

SHEIKHUPURA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Friday praised former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, saying the latter had ended the menace of terrorism. Addressing the public gathering in Sheikhupura, Shehbaz said: “During the tenure of Nawaz Sharif, the prices of sugar were Rs52 per kg and petrol was Rs105 per litre.”
Nawaz Sharif recounted the ouster of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, saying, “Former president Gen Pervez Musharraf had toppled the government of Nawaz Sharif by enforcing the martial law.” He credited Nawaz Sharif for addressing the issues in connection with the power outage, saying, “The country was witnessing 20-hour loadshedding. But due to the utter dedication of Nawaz Sharif, the issue of power outages was addressed successfully.”
Earlier, PML-N Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz said that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s role will be vital in a bid to control the inflation in the country. Maryam Nawaz held a meeting with the members of the union council of NA-134. On this occasion, matters in line with the preparations for welcoming Nawaz Sharif to the country were reviewed. “Only Nawaz Sharif came to meet the expectations of the masses. Nawaz Sharif is coming back to the country with the solution of reviving the country’s economy,” Maryam Nawaz added. She recounted the contributions made by the PML-N, spearheaded by Nawaz Sharif.
“When Nawaz Sharif was in power, the masses were provided with all the basic amenities of life like flour, ghee, and sugar,” she added. Separately, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Attaullah Tarar said on Friday that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is returning to change the fate of the country. Addressing the workers convention in Rawalpindi, Tarar said: “The atmosphere here in Rawalpindi is no less than the festival. The city has always belonged to Rawalpindi. Nawaz Sharif will return to the country within a few days.”
He recounted the tenure of Nawaz Sharif, saying, “The price of petrol was merely Rs100 per litre when Nawaz Sharif left the power.” Tarar took a dig at the opponents, saying, “Those who used to make big claims are now escaping.” Moreover, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Musadik Malik vowed on Friday that his party will end poverty in the country. Addressing the workers’ convention in Attock, Malik said, “We will welcome PML-N supremo with the great verve. It’s time to erase the darkest chapters of history.
“It is our responsibility to serve the people. If we commit mistakes, then we will be answerable to the masses,” Malik added. Furthermore, PML-N leader Chaudhry Tanvir rued, “Whenever the country leads to prosperity, it is harmed.’’ Recalling Nawaz Sharif’s ouster, he said, ‘’Nawaz Sharif was disqualified for not taking salary from the son.’’ He recounted the events that transpired on May 9, saying, “The nation demands the accountability of those who attacked the military installations. We could sacrifice our lives for the sake of the country’s defence.” “The PML-N workers love Nawaz Sharif. We want to see the same situation in the country as it was in 2017.” Chaudhry Tanvir added.
