Nazim directs release of fund

PESHAWAR: The district Nazim, Muhammad Asim Khan here on Tuesday issued directives for  releasing of funds to provide missing facilities at BHUs and RHCs in a bid to minimize workload in the hospitals.

A meeting to this effect was held here with Asim Khan in the chair. The DHO told the meeting that according to the directives issued by the district Nazim, PC-1 for repair work and provision of missing  facilities has been completed for 48 BHUs and 6 RHCs of the district. He said every BHU and RHC would be provided funds on equal basis adding that the projects also include shifting these health centres on solar energy.

The district Nazim on this occasion directed for publishing of tenders of these projects before January 1 and presenting a report to his office well in time. He said repair and renovation work at these health facilities should be done under the supervision of respective district member.

He said every effort would be made to provide healthcare facilities to the people at their doorstep so that burden on big hospitals could be reduced.

The meeting was attended by Director Coordination, Sahibzada Muhammad Tariq, DHO Peshawar, Dr Gul Muhammad, Chairman Health Committee Shamsul Bari, District Planning Officer Ameer Khan, Finance Officer Alamzeb Khan and other officials.
