Officials directed to utilize modern tech in investigation

LAKKI MARWAT: District Police Officer (DPO) Arif Shebaz Khan has directed the subordinate police officials and station house officers to use modern technology to trace criminals and ensure their arrest.

Speaking at a meeting in police lines at district headquarters complex Tajazai on Thursday, he said that the use of identity verification, criminal record verification and vehicle verification Sims proved helpful to ensure arrest of wanted men and recover stolen and snatched vehicles. SP investigation Shafiq Wazir, DSP Lakki Afsar Khan, DSP Naurang Murad Ali and SHOs attended the meeting. The monthly performance of policemen posted at police stations and check-posts was reviewed and evaluated in the meeting.

An offocial told the meeting that around 114 proclaimed offenders were captured in different raids and search operations during last month. He said that the cops also destroyed hideouts of hardened criminals in several localities especially rural areas bordering frontier tribal region.

The official further told the participants that the law enforcers seized 30 AK 47 assault rifles, 37 shotguns, 88 pistols, 2918 bullets and 22 kg hashish from wanted criminals and anti social elements and registered cases against them. The district police chief appreciated performance of cops and said that a mechanism had been formulated to monitor professional performance and progress of subordinate officials. “Under reward and punishment policy the cops showing good work will be rewarded while those with poor performance will face stern action”, he added.
