SWABI: One person was killed and two sustained serious injuries in the head-on collision between two heavy trucks on Swabi-Jehangira road near Tordher village before pre-dawn here on Tuesday, said police.
It has been learnt that that a truck loaded with huge marble sheets was on his way to Jehangira, Nowshera from Buner district and when it reached near Sherabad Police post in Tordher village it collided with another heavy truck coming from the opposite direction. The local people participated in rescue operation and the Rescue workers who also reached to the spot had extracted the dead body from the truck after great hard work. The body was stuck there after expiring. One of the truck fallen into a deep ditch on the edge of the road.
One of the Truck driver has registered an FIR in Chota Lahore police station and alleged that the driver of the other truck was responsible for the accident. The cause of the accident was that the marble truck driver had lost control on the vehicle due to overloading.
The victim was conductor identified as Ismail Khan who belonged to Buner district. The injured has been taken to Bacha Khan Medical Complex Shahmansoor. One of the injured was identified as Sulman Khan while the name of the other injured was not as certain. The doctors said that one of them was in critical condition and other one was improving.
