Pakistan confirms 7,048 new coronavirus cases; 21 deaths in a day

ISLAMABAD: The daily coronavirus toll in Pakistan continues to rise as the country reported 7,048 new coronavirus cases along with 21 virus-related deaths during the last 24 hours (Sunday), showed the data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Monday morning.

According to the statistics released by NCOC, after the addition of 21 new deaths, the toll has now surged to 29,269, which represents a ratio of 2.1 percent.

The positivity ratio of the coronavirus cases in Pakistan reaches 11.53 percent, as 7,048 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 61,077 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 1,425,039.

The number of active cases in the country is 104,045 with 1,433 patients in critical condition.

There were 2,987 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 1,291,725 with a 90.6% recovery rate.

Punjab

Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 2,107 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the provincial tally to 478,527 with 28,745 active cases. In Punjab, 9 more patients died of coronavirus as the death toll reached 13,160. With 582 new recoveries reported, 436,622 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.

Sindh

Sindh has recorded 1,670 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 541,693 with 46,314 active cases. There were 9 new deaths reported related to the deadly disease as the death toll in Sindh reached 7,821. With 894 new recoveries, 487,558 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 1,647 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 194,166 with 10,717 active cases. The province reported 2 new virus-related death as the death toll reached 5,998. With 892 new recoveries, 177,451 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Balochistan

Balochistan recorded 48 new cases as the tally reached 34,390 with 436 active cases. The province reported no new death as the death toll reached 367. With 473 new recoveries, 33,587 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Islamabad

Islamabad has recorded 1,024 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 127,497 with 15,014 active cases. With 1 new death reported in the Federal Capital, the death toll reached 980. With 475 recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 111,503 in the federal capital so far.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir

Azad Jammu and Kashmir recorded 5432 new cases during the last 24 hours as the tally reached 38,115 with 2,652 active cases. With no1 new death reported, the death toll remained 755. There were 69 new recoveries in the AJK as 34,708 patients have recovered so far from the virus.

Gilgit-Baltistan

Gilgit-Baltistan recorded 9 new cases during the last 24 hours, as the tally reached 10,651 with 167 active cases. With no new death reported in the province, the death toll remains at 188. With 28 new patients recovered, the number of patients recovered from the deadly disease reached 10,296.
