Pakistan records 698 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: All the indicators continue showing a downward trend in the coronavirus cases as Pakistan reported 698 new coronavirus cases with a positivity ratio of 1.65 percent.

Pakistan reported 9 more coronavirus deaths and 698 new cases that emerged during the last 24 hours (Sunday), showed the data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Monday morning.

According to the statistics released by NCOC, after the addition of 9 new deaths, the toll has now surged to 28,386, which represents a ratio of 2.2 percent.

The positivity ratio of the coronavirus cases in Pakistan has reached 1.65 percent, as 698 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 42,095 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 1,269,234.

The number of active cases in the country is 23,940 with 1,524 patients in critical condition.

There were 666 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 1,216,908 with a 95.9% recovery rate.

Punjab

Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 182 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the provincial tally to 439,171 with 8,023 active cases. In Punjab, one patient died of coronavirus as the death toll reached 12,896. With 252 new recoveries, 418,252 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.

Sindh

Sindh has recorded 389 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 467,814 with 12,648 active cases. With 3 new deaths related to the deadly disease, the death toll in Sindh reached 7,551. With 183 new recoveries, 447,615 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 79 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 177,519 with 2,609 active cases. The province reported 5 new virus-related deaths as the death toll reached 5,720. With 139 new recoveries, 169,190 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Balochistan

Balochistan has recorded another 11 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 33,196 with 101 active cases. The province reported no new death as the death toll remains at 355. With 13 new recoveries, 32,740 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Islamabad

Islamabad has recorded 31 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 106,710 with 398 active cases. With no new death reported in the Federal Capital, the death toll remains 938. With 72 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 105,374 in the federal capital so far.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir

Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 6 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 34,441 with 88 active cases. With no new death reported, the death toll remains at 740. There were 7 new recoveries in the AJK as 33,613 patients have recovered so far from the virus.

Gilgit-Baltistan

Gilgit-Baltistan recorded 1 new case during the last 24 hours, as the tally reached 10,383 with 73 active cases. With no new death reported in the province the death toll remains at 186. There were 1 new recovery as the number of patients recovered from the deadly disease reached 10,124.
