PHC stops transfer of UET funds

PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has stopped transfer of funds as well as changes in project and sites of University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Dir campus, on Wednesday.

The counsel for petitioner Malik Muhammad Ajmal Khan Advocate informed that establishment of UET Dir campus was approved in 2016 while 96 Kanal and 10 Marla land was acquired for the desired project but no progress is seen till today.

The counsel further informed that in 2016 classes of UET Dir campus was announced to be held at Govt. College of Management Sciences Wari while 2023 is started but no stone is turned on Dir campus construction despite current government inaugurated the project in 2018.

The counsel Malik Muhammad Ajmal Khan Advocate argued that now provincial government is diverting UET Dir campus funds to another project while requested for stoppage of transferring funds.

PHC’s single bench comprised of Justice Dr. Khurshid Iqbal has stopped transfer of UET Dir Campus funds to other projects and adjourned further hearing till date to be fixed.
