PM Imran approves Tarin’s nomination for Senate seat

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the nomination of Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin for a Senate seat, on Wednesday.

Local news channel reported that Tarin was going to complete his term as a federal minister in October; the prime minister has given a green signal to his nomination so that he could carry on his duties in his present capacity.

A few days ago when a reporter, while referring to Tarin’s election as a senator, had asked him as to when he was going to share good news with journalists in this regard, the minister replied gleefully, “You will get to hear the good news soon.”

Sources further divulged that the decision as to which senator of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) would resign from his seat to pave the way for the election of the finance minister would be taken in two days’ time.
