PUC to observe ‘Youm-e-Toba’ today

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) and religious scholars of Darul Afta Pakistan Thursday urged the public to observe ‘Youm-e-Toba’ on Friday and asked Ulema, Mashaykh and religious scholars to make special prayers for recovery of coronavirus patients.

In a joint statement, the leadership of PUC and leading scholars of Darul Afta, Pakistan advised the public to stay inside homes while making safety of their respective families in wake of coronavirus pandemic, said a press release.

The Ulema must play their role in implementing 20-Points declaration of taking preventive measures during the holy month of Ramazan to keep open the Mosques across the country, the statement said and added the public should also demonstrate responsibility by following preventive measures while visiting Mosques during the holy month.

Moreover, the elderly citizens and children should say prayers inside homes during the holy month of Ramadan and Mosques administrations should also ensure distancing in prayer lines and prayers mats inside Masajid.

The religious leadership also underlined that rising numbers of coronavirus in the country was alarming as suspects mounting all over Pakistan with each passing day.

The public should adopt preventive measures including social distancing to stay safe from COVID-19 as it was the only available remedy against this pandemic.

The people should turn to Allah Almighty and seek forgiveness from Him in wake of coronavirus.

The prominent religious scholars who issued this statement included Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, Pir Naqeebur Rehman, Allama Ziaullah Shah Bukhari, Maulana Muhammad Hanif Bhatti,  Maulana Muhammad Rafiq Jaami, Maulana Asad Zikriya, Maulana Asadullah Farooq, Allama Abdul Haq Mujahid, Allama Tahirul Hasssan, Maulana Zubair Abid, Maulana Abubakar Sabri, Maulana Aseedur Rehman, Maulana Nauman Hashir, Qazi Matiullah Saeedi and Maulana Usman Baig Farooqi.
