ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has announced the initiation of E-Passport, and 1819 Emergency Service as well as Community Policing in Islamabad in the days ahead.
Rashid said that the PTI government is committed to providing the public a secure environment and essential services at their doorstep and various initiatives are being undertaken in the capital in this regard. Sheikh Rashid was addressing the media in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Interior Minister informed the media that Prime Minister Imran Khan will launch E-Passport Service after returning from Russia.
According to him, the 1819 emergency service and community policing will be started in Islamabad very soon under which 28 different types of services will be provided by the Islamabad Police through a Police Service Center being established in F-6 Islamabad in the coming days.
He told the reporters that 28 new NADRA offices are being established in four provinces while 13 passport offices will be open in Sindh during the current year. According to Sheikh, the government has decided to establish a modern lady Bazar in Islamabad and interested women can submit their bid to hire a shop to Deputy Commissioner Islamabad.
While commenting on the political situation and proposed no-confidence motion by the opposition parties, Sheikh said that the opposition will get nothing out of the no-confidence motion, and it will certainly dirge its act of no-confidence after the outcome.
Rashid said that the opposition’s request, meetings, and rallies will not work, and failure will be the fate of the opposition.
According to Sheikh Rashid, if the opposition keeps its card hidden, the same is the case with Imran too, who keeps his cards close to the chest.
Sheikh was of the view that a politician never closes his door, if the PML-N could resume its contacts with PML-Q after 14 years of rivalry, then PTI must consult the Jahangir Tareen group because both Prime Minister and Tareen are old friends and minor differences can not affect personal relations.
While responding to a media query regarding the upcoming visit of the Australian Cricket team, Sheikh Rashid said that excellent security arrangements had been made for Australian Players during their visit to Pakistan.
While answering another question regarding the recent upsurge in street crimes in Karachi, Rashid said that the Center can deploy more Rangers in Karachi to overcome criminal activities in the Megacity if the Sindh government requested assistance.
