LAKKI MARWAT: Lakki Marwat district police officer Arif Shahbaz Khan has said that the role of journalists in maintenance of peace and eradication of crimes is inevitable therefore they should lend a helping hand toward police force to tighten noose around miscreants and anti social elements.

This he said while talking to a delegation of local journalists at his office the other day. The delegation led by press club general secretary Hafiz Minhajud Din assured that local media persons would use their pens to bridge the gap between police and public with the aim to curb crimes and eliminate social and moral evils.

Mr Arif called upon the journalists to educate people about their role and duty in eradication of crimes. “The media personnel should motivate people to cooperate with police so as to purge society from all kinds of social and moral vices”, he maintained.

The district police chief asked the people to execute social boycott of those involved in illegal business and practice of narcotics selling, gambling and other social evils. He said that full support by area people would help police to bring hardened criminals, drug traffickers, and anti state elements into clutches of law.

“The journalists should motivate religious scholars, prayers leaders, teachers, elders and people from other segments to play their role in ensuring sustainable peace and harmony in the district”, he added.
