F.P. Report

PESHAWAR: The Executive Committee of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has approved a resolution to condemn delay in disposal of extension cases of industries by Chief Executive of PESCO and his unfriendly behavior with business community of the province.

The resolution also demanded of federal government to take action against CE PESCO for ignoring SCCI, not giving due consideration to the complaints of industrialists and for not giving time to business community for meeting.

“The federal government should appoint a business friendly person on this important post who has the manner and capability of resolving the problems of business community of the province,” reads the resolution.

According to a press statement issued here on Thursday, the meeting of the Executive Committee of SCCI was held here with President SCCI, Zahidullah Shinwari in chair.

The participants of the meeting also expressed concern over eviction of shopkeepers from shops over the pretext of renovation of historic Masjid Mohabat Khan in interior city.

The shopkeepers are extending full cooperation in the renovation of historic mosque, but government is planning to expel them from shops, which is very unjust, observed the members of Executive Committee of SCCI.

President SCCI, Zahidullah Shinwari apprised participants of the meeting about recent activities taken by SCCI for resolution of problems and difficulties by commercial units and business community of the province.

The meeting expressed dissatisfaction over performance of government institutions working for promotion of industrial and commercial activities in the province.

They said these departments have badly failed in resolving problems being faced by business community and not showing seriousness in this regards.

President SCCI also informed SCCI Executive Committee members that businessmen can easily get visa of China on the recommendation of SCCI. In this connection understanding has been developed with Chinese Embassy, he added.
