Security forces arrest six suspects in action

TIMERGARA: Security forces on Wednesday raided different houses at Shawa in Adenzai tehsil and took six suspects into custody, sources said.

They said a team led by Major Aamir and Lieutenant Izaz of the Pakistan army conducted a search operation at Shawa village and took several suspects into custody. The arrested men included Naseeb Zada, Muhammad Arif, Ahmad Khan, Aslam Khan, Rustam Khan and Lal Badshah, residents of Shawa and Danda Rabat who were taken to the Chakdara fort for further interrogation. The security forces also recovered 2 double barrel 12 bore guns and 3 pistols from their possession.

An activist of the Qaumi Watan Party Hidayat Khan was injured in the firing by unknown persons at Shawa area of Adenzai in the jurisdiction of Ouch police station on Saturday last. Sources said that some of the militants had been active in the area and they threatened local politicians. The security forces soon after the incident had arrested a brother of a suspected militant belonging to Shawa area. Also a time bomb blast near a busy market at Chakdara on Sunday last had frightened locals. Keeping in view these incidents the security forces stepped up its search operation in the area.
