Three PHC judges take oath

PESHAWAR: Chief Justice Peshawar High Court (PHC) Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim administered oath from three judges including Justice Fazal Subhan, Justice Shahid Khan and Justice Dr. Khursheed Iqbal who were recently permanent by President of Pakistan, on Monday.

According to details, the oath-taking ceremony held at Court Room No. 1 of the Peshawar High Court which was attended by judges, Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Faisal Atman Khel, Additional Attorney General Sana Ullah, and legal fraternity.

Their appointment was approved by the President of Pakistan which has increased the total number of judges in the Peshawar High Court to 14. Initially, the three judges were appointed as Additional (ad-hoc) judges, but later the Judicial Commission of Pakistan recommended their confirmation as permanent judges. It is worthy to mention that currently, there are six vacancies for judges in the Peshawar High Court, as only 14 judges are working against the approved strength of 20 positions.
