Vaccine registration for 30 or above to begin from Sunday

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Federal Planning Minister and National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) head Asad Umar on Wednesday announced that the registration for all 30 years and older citizens for vaccination against coronavirus will be open from coming Sunday (May 16).

In a tweet, Asad Umar said that as vaccine supply continues to improve and vaccination capacity gets enhanced in all federating units, the government will continue to expand the categories of those who are eligible to get vaccinated.

In the last 24 hours (Tuesday), 38,616 tests were conducted, 2,869 people tested COVID19 positive and 104 deaths were recorded across the country, as per the data released by the NCOC.

Earlier, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Dr Faisal Sultan said that 1.2 million doses of AstraZeneca-Oxford were received and 1.2 million expected soon would supplement vaccines purchased by the Government of Pakistan.

Dr Faisal had repeatedly clarified the impression in his press talks that Pakistan is actively buying the vaccines from three companies in the world and not merely relying on the gift or donated vaccines of coronavirus.
