Young tennis player Zainab Ali Naqvi passes away

ISLAMABAD: Young Pakistani tennis player Zainab Ali Naqvi passed away during her participation in the ITF Junior Tournament held in Islamabad, on Tuesday.

The tennis community mourned the sudden death of 17-year-old Zainab Ali Naqvi, a promising talent hailing from Karachi.

Zainab, known for her remarkable skills on the court, had travelled to Islamabad to play in the ITF Junior Tournament. As per the Tennis Federation, after her match Zainab went to take a shower. Concern arose when she did not return within a reasonable time. Sadly, upon breaking the door of her room, she was found to have passed away.

PTF President Asam-ul-Haq Qureshi, former president PTF Senator Salim Saifullah Khan, members of the council, and numerous members of the tennis community extended their deepest condolences to Zainab’s family during this difficult time.

One-minute silence was observed at the IT Junior Tournament where the administration cancelled all the matches scheduled for today.
