More than 10,000 Sikh pilgrims to visit Pakistan to celebrate 550th birthday of Guru Nanak

LAHORE: More than 10,000 Sikh pilgrims are likely to visit Pakistan to participate in the 550th birthday celebrations of their spiritual leader Guru Nanak.

The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) and the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC) informed media that the Sikh pilgrims would be increased from 3,000 to 10,000, as per the agreement with among Pakistan-India 1974 on visits to Religious Shrines.

The final decision in this regard would be taken by the federal government and interior ministry.

Earlier, the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousuf had announced plans to issue a memorable coin commemorating the 550th birthday anniversary of Guru Nanak.
