TIMERGARA: The Lower Dir deputy district health officer and focal person for district crises management cell Dr Irshad Ali on Thursday said a total of 21 women, 24 men and 31 children were isolated in 11 home quarantines so far in different areas of the district. Talking to local journalists he said the number of suspected cases was 10 test results of four patients negative. The DDHO said they would get results of rest of the cases in a couple of days. He said that a total of 1707 people were screened at all entry and exit points in the district. He said that people of Dir coming from Karachi, Lahore and Kashmir were creating problems for the administration and health department as many of them hid their travel history. He asked the residents to report to the crises management cell about the arrival of people from out districts.
All big and small bazaars in the district remained closed for the sixth consecutive day here on Thursday. The Lower Dir deputy commissioner Saadat Hassan along with district police officer Abdul Rasheed and local journalists visited different markets in Timergara city. The Timergara traders’ body president Haji Anwar ud Din, traffic in charge Shad Muhammad and other officials were also present on the occasion. The DC checked prices of fruit, vegetable, edibles and non-edibles. He said that section 144 had been imposed on gatherings of more than five persons and all residents should honour the order. He said that all government departments were on high alert. The DC asked people to take precautionary measures and follow social distancing and hand shake.
Also in the day the deputy commissioner Saadat Hassan along with Major Zahid of the Pakistan army and district police officer Abdul Rasheed paid surprise visit to the Chakdara entry point and directed the AAC Adenzai not to allow any passengers’ vehicles to enter the district. Meanwhile the district sports officer Bakht Shah Zeb meanwhile visited different playgrounds at Saddo, Talash, Khungi, Timergara and Tangi Darra. The official forcibly stopped children from playing and asked locals not to allow children to play during the partial lock down. The administration also launched crackdowns in Samar Bagh, Munda, Mayar, Maskini, Kambat, Talash and Timergara against unnecessary opening of shops, gatherings at bazaars, motor vehicles and playgrounds. Several shopkeepers were fined on the occasion for violation of government instructions and overcharging commuters.
