22 arrested for profiteering, erecting encroachments

PESHAWAR: District administration Peshawar has arrested 22 persons from different markets of Hayatabad during a crackdown against profiteering and erecting of encroachments.

On the directives of the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Islamzeb, the Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC), Sara Omar Tawab conducted raids in Shumali Market, Yousafzai Market, Basharat Market, Super Market, Bilal Market and others and arrested 22 persons for erecting encroachments outside their shops, selling under-weight roti and profiteering.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Islamzeb Thursday visited Peshawar Zoo and reviewed facilities available for the visitors. Additional Assistant Commissioners (AACs) Irfan Ali Khan and Salahuddin also accompanied the Deputy Commissioner.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner was briefed regarding the animals present in the zoo. He was requested for the deployment of police, traffic police and cleansing of roads by WSSP on daily basis.

On this occasion, the DC directed the display of banners on the cages of animals and installation of benches to facilitate visitors of the zoo. He assured that their demands would be fulfilled as soon as possible.
