2509 aerial firing cases registered this year: Police

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police during the current calendar year has registered 2509 aerial firing cases compared  to the preceding period of 1609 cases registered, which are 904 higher than the previous year, said a statement issued here from Central Police Office (CPO) on Monday.

Usually casualties from aerial firing occurred mainly in suburb of Peshawar, Charsadda and southern districts. The police though is somehow putting its best to bring this toll to zero level by sensitizing the people and for this end to achieve they usually place big banner on every police mobile.

This is the only heinous crime in which despite the loss of so many human precious lives losses not a single violator got punishment. Every government undertakes effective measures against this menace especially on Eid occasion.

For this purpose, seminars are being held, walks are arranged and big banners inscribed with anti-aerial firing statement are being put on police mobiles. Police efforts, different social organizations are also putting its share in it by normally arranging seminars and walks against this dreadful menace.

The religious personalities are also trying their best by educating the people in their sermons about aerial firing. Religious scholars have issued decree (Fatwa) against aerial firing terming it totally against the ethics of Islam and the victims as martyrs.
