LAHORE: Three dacoits were shot dead and 18 arrested as the police operation entered the 11th day in the Katcha area of Rahim Yar Khan, on Wednesday.
According to police, a large number of heavy weapons and ammunition were recovered from the dacoits.
The police established five more new camps in the area, strengthening the rule of law and the writ of state.
It was also learnt that the police also laid a siege to the hideout of notorious criminal Qabil Sakhani and cut the supply line.
Earlier, the police reaped big successes in the operation. The police spokesperson had said that the police made advances against the dacoits in the Katcha area.
He had added that the police took control of several hideouts of the dacoits. Sporadic incidents of trade of fire between the police and the hardened criminals had been reported.
