Tree plantation drive kicks off in Buner

BUNER: Provincial Secretary Forest, Nazar Hussain Shah while formally launching the tree plantation drive in Buner district on Monday urged upon the farmers to plant large number of plants on their barren lands for meeting their domestic demands of fire wood and construction besides income generation from forests.

He added that tree plantation is investment of future generation which will help improve environment for living healthy.

He continued to say that huge forestation in a region was proved best protection in land erosion and to produce crystal clear healthy water and pleasant air. Deputy Commissioner Zareeful Maani, District Nazim Dr. ObaIdullah, Farmers Association Leader Professor Hamidur Rehman, Pakistan Tobacco officers Javed Khan, Amir Lodhi, Zafrullah Khan, and Abdul Naeem addressed.

The speakers highlighted importance of plantation and a forestation for betterment of all living things. They quoted from Holly Quran and Ahadis that plantation was important in the eyes of Almighty Allah.

They elaborated that Islamic teachings were focused in the plantation even the great prophet was directed Muslims to look after the forest and was barred them from cutting it.

They mentioned that those were planting trees will have its benefits in this ordinary world and on domes day they will be awarded too. Amir Lodi while responding media query told PTC was distributed about three million forest plants every year and this year in Buner district about three lak forest plants will be distributed among farmers.

He elaborated that the forest department and Farmers were focused while community welfare organizations were also involved to make sure huge quantity plantation with the aim of creating healthy environment for better life.
