LANDI KOTAL: A woman was killed another sustained injuries in a landslide here in Sheenpokh, Loy-Shelman, and the remote and bordering area of Tehsil Landi Kotal on Tuesday.
The administration official Shams-ur-Rehman told the ill-fated women were digging out mud utilized for construction and repairing purposes in nearby mud hill top when suddenly the landslide buried them under mounds of mud.
Soon after the incident, the local tribesmen rushed to the scene and retrieved the body and wounded from the debris and shifted to nearest health center where one woman was declared dead by the health officials after thoroughly examination. The deceased were identified as wife of Gulmajan and injured woman, wife of Mirali Shah who had been moved to hospital was under treatment and her condition was stated to be stabled, health official told.
Meanwhile a 14 years old girl drowned in water channel here in Ghundi area of Tehsil Jamrud on Tuesday. The administration and local sources informed that 14 years old daughter of Zar Muhammad was washing clothes at bank of the canal when her leg slipped and she fell down into the water. Immediately after an incident, the locals moved to the spot, fished out her body and took to hospital but she was announced dead by the doctors.
