ANF organised ground breaking ceremony of ANF Academy extension project

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Narcotics Control Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti graced the event as Chief Guest and laid the foundation stone of the extension project.

The event was attended by Director General ANF Major General Ghulam Shabeer Narejo, Secretary Narcotics Control Humaira Ahmed, Commandent ANF Academy Brig Akhter Alim, ANF Senior Staff Officers and International Partners including Representative of UNODC Ms. Aliona Niculta, UN Resident Coordinator Ms. Mia Sato, US Ambassador to Pakistan Mr. Donald Blonde and Representative of INL-P Mr. Todd Robinson.

The chief guest and DG ANF unveiled the plaque and broke the ground to lay the foundation of the new project.

The newly founded project will include Academic Block with capacity to accommodate 60 Trainees, Female Residential Facility with accommodation capacity of 27 Trainees and a Day Care Facility to facilitate a number of 10-15 Children of the working women. The centre will cost an amount of Rs. 102.284 Million and will be functional in 20 months.

Federal Minister while speaking on the occasion said that the qualitative training and professional standards at Law Enforcement Training Institutions guarantee enhanced peace and stability in the country.

DG ANF while speaking on the occasion said that the prime objective of the project is to expand the capacity of ANF Academy for better training standards for ANF as well officers and officials of other law enforcement agencies and to provide safe and convenient residential facility for female officers and officials attending the training sessions at the academy.

The international partners attending the ceremony lauded Pakistan’s counter narcotics measures at national, regional and global level. They also appreciated ANF’s endeavours to struggle for a achieving the ultimate goal of Drug Free Society.
