KOHAT: District administration on Wednesday started anti-encroachment operation in the area with the aim to clean the area from the encroachments.
On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Kohat Khalid Ilyas, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sahibzada Najeebullah along with Additional Assistant Commissioner Sahibzada Samiullah and Irrigation Team, has successfully launched the 2nd Phase of Anti Encroachment Drive on Irrigation Property and after 30 years, retrieved 68 Kanals land from the land grabbers on one side of the Canal on 1st Day of the 2nd Phase. The land grabbers occupied the irrigation land up to 15 feet in residential area while 40 feet on orchards which was removed through excavator. It may be recalled that the team under the leadership of Sahibzada Najeebullah, retrieved more than 450 Kanals Irrigation land in 1st phase of the Anti Encroachment Drive from Jarma, Soor Gul, Muslimabad, Dhal Behzadi, Merozai, Camp Area, Garhi Mawaz Khan and Kurd Area and got its possession. While talking to media persons, the ADC said, it was encouraging that the locals instead of resistance, were fully cooperating the district administration in the Drive and voluntary removing their encroachments.
