Asma Rani murder case: ASJ convicts culprit to death

PESHAWAR: Additional Session Judge Peshawar Ishfaq Taj has convicted murderer of medical student in 2018 to death and imposed fine of Rs,2.3 million, on Friday.

However, two alleged accused in the case had been acquitted from the charges due to lack of evidence.

The convicted murderer namely Mujahid Ullah had killed Asma Rani who was student of third year at Ayub Medical College on 27 January 2018 because she turndown his proposal for marriage.

The acquitted accused were Shah Zeb and Sadiq Ullah. The counsel for Shah Zeb was Shabbir Hussain Gigyani Advocate appeared before court.

Supreme Court of Pakistan had take suo moto notice of the offense and the convicted murderer arrested from United Arab Emirates through Interpol because he was escaped from the country after committing murderer.

ASJ Ishfaq has announced short order in central jail due to security reasons however latterly detail judgment comprising of 45 pages were issued.

The counsel for petitioner was Abdul Fayyaz Advocate argued the case before court.
At the time judgment parents and siblings of the deceased Asma Rani were present at the central jail.
