‘Civilians killed’ in govt airstrike in Balkh: Residents

BALKH (TOLO News): Residents of Balkh district in northern Balkh province said on Tuesday that civilians were killed in a government airstrike in the district on Monday night.

The bodies of the victims have been carried to the district center by the residents.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) in a statement said that at least 11 Taliban were killed and 10 were wounded in an airstrike in Balkh district.

The Taliban were planting mines along the road, MoD said, adding that “the Taliban were preparing to attack Afghan forces.”

The Taliban also said that civilians were killed in the attack.
