DC examines flood affected areas of Shelman

LANDI KOTAL: Deputy Commissioner, Khyber Shah Fahad visited Loy-Shelman, the remote area and examined flood devastative villages of Sheen Pokh and Samsay.
Flanked by Assistant Commissioner, Landi Kotal Irshad Mohmand, Exian Yasir Mehsud, Tehsildar Daud Afridi met with tribal elders of the area and discussed the damages made by the over-flooded River Kabul.
The locals appraised the administrative highup of their miseries and informed that the flood not only washed away their crops in the fields but also destroyed their houses, cattles and other moveable properties.
On the direction of Deputy Commissioner a committee under the head of the Tehslidar was formed to comprise a comprehensive report of damages made by the flood.
Speaking on the occasion DC Shah Fahad said that as per procedure the provincial government will compensate flood affected farmers and assured that the government will never let the rain hit people in this time of need.
Red alert has been issued to all concerned departments to tackle the situation in case of emergency, DC said.
It is to be mentioned that nearly 1000 people have died and 30 million are badly affected by the torrential rain, flood flashes across the country.
