Defense Minister reviews security measures at border

LANDI KOTAL: Defense Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan paid a visit to Landi Kotal on Wednesday and reviewed security measures adopted at western border, sharing with Afghanistan.

Flanked by Inspector General Frontier Corp (IGFC) Major General Waseem Ashraf and Sector Commander Muhammad Arshad, the Federal Minister arrived at Landi Kotal by helicopter where they were received by local forces officials. The visiting official examined the border security posts in Mehraban Kalley, Tarkho Kas, and Paindi Cheena and inspected the Big Ben post, located at the border.

Speaking on the occasion the Defense Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan expressed satisfaction over the defense procedures approved at the border and vowed that the countrymen were ready to defense a single inch of the country land and would shed last drip of their blood for the sake of their mother land.

He reiterated that effective counter act would be given to the enemy in case of any offense on the border, adding by installing fence at the Pak-Afghan border had curtained terrorism actions in the country many folds. He also paid rich tribute to the martyrs of the forces and said in unfavorable condition the troops secured borders of the country.

Earlier, on the visit of the high officials to the town, extra-security measures had been followed in Landi Kotal and entry to the public offices including Assistant Political Agent(APA)Landi Kotal, Tehsildar, NADRA, Telephone exchange etc, were strictly prohibited that multiplied miseries of the local tribesmen.
