Efforts underway to create agricultural complexes in country: Ministry

KABUL (Ariana News): The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL) says it plans to build agricultural complexes with international standards for developing agricultural systems in four zones of the country.
The ministry officials said that with the construction of these complexes, the country’s agricultural sector will move from its traditional form to mechanization, and in addition, billions of afghanis will be invested in this sector.
They stated that initial preparations have been made for the construction of these complexes in Balkh, Herat, Nangarhar and Kandahar provinces.
The construction of new complexes in the agriculture sector and also the expansion of investment in this field can bring profound changes in the
agriculture sector,
officials said.
“Fortunately, agricultural complexes will be built in four zones for the private sector. In these complexes, there are both processing, packaging, and standard cold stores,” said Mirwais Hajizada, deputy head of the Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock.
“In Afghanistan, more ease should be created for farmers so that they take advantage of good opportunities to grow our production, and so that traders can process and package from those complexes; and to export to far and near countries,” he added.
Meanwhile, the agriculture ministry stated that it has increased its efforts to encourage domestic and foreign investors to invest in the agriculture and livestock sector.
