Forces destroy multiple weapons in operation

WARDAK: The Special Forces of the Afghan military have destroyed multiple weapons during a raid which was conducted in Wardak province. Informed military source said Monday that the raid was conducted on Monday in Sayyidabad district.

“Multiple weapons were captured and destroyed during an Afghan Special Security Forces (ASSF) raid in Sayyidabad district, Wardak province, April 28, 2019,” the sources said. The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the airstrike so far.

Maidan Wardak is among the relatively volatile provinces in central parts of Afghanistan. Taliban militants are active in some of the restive districts of the province and often attempt to carry out terrorist related activities against the government and security institutions.

Meanwhile, tAfghan Special Forces have destroyed dozens of heavy machine guns, rockets, Improvise Explosive Devices, and other explosives during an operation in southern Uruzgan province. Informed military sources said Monday that the weapons and explosives were destroyed in Tarin Kot city, the provincial capital of Uruzgan province.

“Afghan Special Forces conducted an operation in Tarin Kot district of Uruzgan province and destroyed a large IED and weapons cache which included 16 pressure plate IEDs, 2 suicide vests, 12 rockets with boosters and 161 DShk machine guns,” the sources added. The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the airstrike so far.
