Former UNAMA chief meets with Stanikzai

KABUL (Ariana News): Tadamichi Yamamoto, the former head of UNAMA in Afghanistan, and his accompanying delegation, met with Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai, the Afghan Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Yamamoto said that Japan has a special love for the people of Afghanistan, and for this purpose, it wants to understand the current situation in Afghanistan and, in addition to providing humanitarian aid, Japan wants to build trust and relations between the existing government and the international community.
Atsushi Tsunami, the president of Suskawa Peace Foundation, was also at the meeting and presented information about the foundation and showed his readiness to work in Afghanistan.
Stanikzai, in his turn, welcomed them and mentioned Japan’s assistance and cooperation with Afghanistan.
He also said Afghanistan is a country that has just come out of wars and it is necessary to provide assistance in the fields of education, health, agriculture and environmental protection, and assured them of the IEA’s full cooperation and facilitation.
The delegation also pledged assistance in a number of areas.
