Govt should sense the deprivation among tribesmen: QWP

LANDI KOTAL: Chief of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has said that the tribesmen have suffered a lot in the last decades and time has come to give them relief and for the purpose the incumbent should initiate mega development projects in the ex-tribal agencies. Pakistan and Afghanistan are two brotherly and neighboring countries and needs to resolve all issues through mutual dialog.

Addressing to public gathering in the Hujra (male guest house) of late Major (Rtd) Dost Muhammad, senior worker of QWP, in LandiKotal on Thursday, on his first death anniversary, Aftab Ahmad Khan said that militancy had effected residents of former tribal belt and now they needed relief. He maintained that abolishing of the century old British Law, Frontier Crime Regulation (FCR) and merging of the ex-tribal agencies in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was collective efforts of all political workers however some segments of tribal society had reservation over the decision and it was promulgated on the present government to satisfy them by fulfill promised had made at the time of merging.

“Torkham border is the lonely trading points in the area where the local can earn three times meals for their families, therefore the government should follow pro-tribesmen policies at the Pak-Afghan sharing border,”MrSherpao remarked. Flanked by SikandarSherpao and other party leaders, AftabAftabSherpao asked government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)to materialize pledge of providing of Rs.100 billion and 3% share in NFC Award to the merged tribal districts so that new era of progress begin in the area. He conditioned peace in Pakistan with calmness in Afghanistan and said every single step needed to be adopted to normalize relation between the two neighboring countries.

Sherpao appreciated decision of amalgamation of Khasadar and Levies forces in police and demanded equal service structure and facilities for them, being enjoyed by the police in other parts of the country. He vowed that QWP would take part in the provincial election to be scheduled in merged tribal districts. He paid rich tribute to the late Dost Muhammad and said he had reserved his life to raise voce for the right of poor segments of the tribal society. Advocate AsadAfridi, Malik Darya Khan Afridi and others also spoke on the occasion.
