KABUL (Khaama Press): The government of Indonesia and the Islamic Republic of Iran agreed to support Afghan female education in Afghanistan and overcome the humanitarian crisis in the country.
During the visit of Iran’s president Ebrahim Raisi to Indonesia, President Joko Jokowi highlighted the issue of female education in Afghanistan and said we agree to continue support for education access for women in Afghanistan and to provide humanitarian assistance.
“We agree to continue supporting the struggle of the Palestinian people and address the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan by continuing to voice support for education access for women in Afghanistan and provide humanitarian assistance,” Jokowi stated.
President Raise, on his part, expressed his readiness to support female education at all levels.
“Afghan women and girls could elevate the honour of the country because they are an honour for Islam,” Raisi emphasized.
Meanwhile, Raisi stressed that Iran supports Afghanistan in realizing an inclusive government representing the country’s ethnic groups, gender and faiths.
This is Raisi’s first visit to Indonesia since he took office in 2021, and he accepted Jokowi’s formal invitation.
Since the return of the Taliban to power in August 2021, the de facto authorities wiped out women’s presence from the public scene due to several degrees, resulting in restrictions on women, including education, working with aid organizations and gyms.
Despite massive criticism of the banned degrees of the Taliban by international and Islamic countries, the suppressive policies continue against Afghan females.
