Jhagra inaugurates City School campus in Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Governor Eng. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that education plays an important role in creating a prospering and flourishing society.

He said, education pays pivotal role for progress of an individual, because of providing quality education to their students The City Schools has become a renowned and distinguished brand name which has reached every nook and corner of the country.

This he said while addressing at the inaugural ceremony of newly built The City School main campus in Abbottabad here on Wednesday.

The Regional Director North of The City School Mrs. Shireen Javaid, General Manager (GM) Studies Mr. Peter, Pothohar network head of The City School North Ms. Amna Salik, were also present on the occasion.

Governor KP further said that he really appreciates their efforts, the chain they have made. He appreciated faculties, administration of The City Schools Chain for imparting quality education to their children.

Mr. Jhagra also said that it has been his endeavour to ensure hundred percent literacy rate and Pakistan emerge as a leading country in South Asia in the field of education.

Governor KP further said that Government of Pakistan is paying special attention towards quality education to keep pace with developed worlds. Pakistan need to made their educational level as per international standards.

He lauded, like government institutions private educational institutions are successfully imparting quality education to our future generations and The City Schools is amongst one of these.

“The whole team under Mr. Peter and Mrs. Shireen worked tirelessly to turn this dream into reality”, he observed. General Manager (GM) studies of The City Schools, Mr. Peter, while speaking on the occasion said that The City School was first established in Karachi in 1978, now a days this chain is one of the largest schools network in Pakistan with branches in all the major cities across the country.

This chain has 180 schools in 50 cities with over 60,000 students with about 18,000 teaching and non teaching staff. The City Schools are trying to provide quality education and aimed to render best and possible environment for educational activities to their pupils. The curricula of The City Schools is derived from UK national curriculum guides, qualifying them for the IGSCE, O and A level examinations.

He thanked to Governor KP for visiting to their school campus on inaugural ceremony, giving them honoured and addressed there.

Meanwhile, Governor KP also visited Abbottabad University of Science and Technology (AUST)   here on Wednesday.

He also visited various portions of the university and inspected necessary equipment installed there.

“Every institution has to face various problems in the beginning but with sheer hard work, devotion and dedication the same could be overcome”, he opined at AUST.
