HAFIZABAD: Minster of State for Information, Broadcasting National Heritage and National History, Marriyum Aurangzeb has stressed upon the journalists to wield their pen in a responsible manners to present good image of the country.
While administering oath of office to the newly elected office bearers of district union of journalist/press club here this afternoon, she said that media enjoyed full freedom and excess to information, had to play its vital role in removing the obstacles of mistrust, transform it into abiding hope and confidence and reinforcing democracy. She said that ensuring freedom of expression and allowing flow of information was one of the top priorities of the PML-N Govt. since it came to power.
She said that striving to crate congenial atmosphere for the media to play its desired role was also inevitable to revive its image by truthful reporting, as pen is a trust and the journalists should distinguish between truth and falsehood.
She further said that due to the vision of former PM Nawaz Sharif the terrorist incidents in the country have been decreases to great extent. Mover ever CPEC is biggest gift of former PM which would change the destiny of the nation adding that fifty billion dollars investment came into Pakistan due to this project. The present regime has also overcome loadshedding and has added 11,000 megawatts to the national grid.
She said that apart from reviving the economy, the government has also restored peace in the country due to various steps taken in line with the vision of former PM Mian Muhammad Nawaz by the unmatched sacrifices offered by the Pakistan Army and LEA.
She said although corruption of not even a single rupee had been established during the tenure of PM Nawaz Sharif in the Panama case yet he had been sent home in Iqama and this verdict had not been accepted by the masses adding that only that party would come to power in next election which had served the masses. She slated those opposition leaders seeking power from back door were only wasting time of the nation and they have no future in politics and they were only blocking the path leading the country to prosperity.
The Minister said that PML-N would emerge victorious during the upcoming elections due to its performance which is visible across the country. She termed Saira Afzal Tarar Minster for National Health Services as “Lioness” of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif due to her courageous leadership and performance in her ministry as well as ensuring best possible healthcare to the masses, introducing health card at union council level and fulfilling all her promises she had made to the people in 2013 general election.
