Karak: Four FC men, two guards martyred in terrorists’ attack on oilfield

KARAK: Unknown assailants launched an attack on an oilfield near Girgiri in Karak, killing four Frontier Constabulary personnel and two security guards, on Tuesday.

Reportedly, some unknown armed men attacked an oilfield near Girgiri last night. They killed six persons including four FC officials and two security guards. One official is also missing.

However, the vigorous retaliatory fire by the security forces forced the raiders to retreat.

Last year, some armed miscreants raided an oil field and killed two security guards. The assailants also snatched an official while fleeing.

About a week ago, more than a dozen people had been killed in a gubbattle between paramilitary troops and militants who stormed their base and took families hostage in Balochistan.

Well-armed fighters assaulted a Frontier Corps compound in Muslim Bagh area of Balochistan and captured three families in a residential block.

Night-long fighting raged and the complex clearance operation involved hostage rescue operation.

“The terrorists had not even spared children” in their hostage-taking, ISPR had then said. All six militants who breached the compound were also killed.
