KP govt establishes cardiac lab at all DHQ hospitals

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has issued a notification to established Cardiac Lab in all districts headquarter hospital across the province.

This was said in a notification issued from the health department the notification said that heart diseases increasing day by day  in the province and it is dire need of the time to be equipped all the district hospital for the facility.

The notification further said that district headquarter hospital will be equipped with heart surgery where all the facilities will be available to the patients, adding that it will also reduce burden on tertiary care hospitals.

It is further said that most of the divisional hospital have been declared as teaching hospital as according to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) there service of cardiac lab will be established in those hospital.

This was approved by the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 27th September 2017 in the cabinet division meeting to established cardiac lab across the province.

The notification further added that the health department after the cabinet approval looks all the seven division of the province to provide this facility to the DHQ hospitals.

It is further said that total cast on the project will be Rs.1000.000 million excluded the human resource and staff salary while the health department include the project in the ADP 2018-19 in the public interest.

The Units will be establish in Mardan Medical Complex, Khalif Gul Nawaz Hospital, Mufti Mehmood Teaching Hospital, Malakand , Kohat, Bannu and D.I. Khan where these cardiac lab will be established.

In another move the health department issued a notification and directed the hospitals to clean water tanks in every year in the month of July and January.

In the notification all the hospitals administrator has directed to clean the water tanks of the hospital and other measurement regarding cleaning in the hospital as an independent monitoring team will monitor the process.

In another good move of the current provincial government for the first the health department issued Health Insaf Card to the transgender communities as around 260 cards were distributed among the transgender of Peshawar while the rest will be provided them very soon as promised by the health insaf card project director Dr. Riaz Tanoli in a function some days before at Peshawar Press Club.

When this scribe asked question regarding the health insaf card issues face by the patients in hospital as every patients were asked to submit card but after submission they were every time sign the doctor prescription from the registrar of the concern unit which is a hectic practice for the patients.

Project Director of Health Insaf Card in his reply said and accepted that there are some problems facing by the patients during treatment on SICs in hospital as they were aware of them but the department will tackle the problems very soon in the hospital administration and it will be soon solve.

It is merit mention here that the KP government passed Medical Teaching Institution Act and some doctors were now practice in hospital under the Institutional Based Practice in hospitals.

As the doctors who were setting in these hospital were divided in different categories but the most senior doctors OPD charge fee for one patient is more than Rs.1000 as poor patients can’t afford such high fee and requested the concern high ups to reduce the fee at least Rs500 which can be affordable for the patients.

The patients were of the views that as the doctors were enjoy the government set up and all the facilities including lab and other then there is no need to be submit and check up from such a high fee charges.
