Mediamen sin by shaving beards, taking photos

KABUL (Khaama Press): The head of the Public Invitation and Guidance Department of the de facto administration stated that many media employees still commit a major sin by shaving their beards.
Mohammad Hashem Shahid Wror, the head of the Public Invitation and Guidance Department of the Taliban, said on Tuesday, February 20th in a meeting, that growing a beard is obligatory and should not be trimmed.
He said, “Media employees should also keep their beards and refrain from shaving.”
He further stated that media employees also commit a major sin by taking pictures.
He emphasized that media employees should not waste all their time on photography, as taking pictures is a major sin and they will be held accountable before God in the Hereafter.
He added, “Media employees are our Afghan compatriots, but they are persistently committing the sin of shaving their beards and are more focused on corruption.”
Earlier, the governor of the Taliban in Kandahar recently issued a written directive to all institutions and authorities of the Taliban in this province, prohibiting any photography of formal and informal meetings and ceremonies.
Mullah Shirin Akhund, the governor of the Taliban in Kandahar, instructed in this written directive, which has been published on social media and some media outlets, that national and military officials of the Taliban government in this province should refrain from taking pictures and photographing their “human being” at formal and informal gatherings.
