Minister warns against low-quality goods

KABUL (BNA): The Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nooruddin Azizi, met with major suppliers of raw materials and other stakeholders today to discuss the market situation and the impact of the Afghan currency appreciation on the prices of essential goods.
According to a statement from the ministry, Azizi exchanged views with officials of chambers of commerce and shopkeepers, heads of various trade unions in Kabul, importers of essential materials, and officials of transportation companies.
He also received information on the prices of raw materials and essential goods in different sectors. Azizi said that the ministry does not interfere in the market but tries to ensure fair competition among suppliers and consumers.
He added that the ministry closely monitors the market and does not tolerate any violations, such as selling low-quality goods or creating artificial scarcity to increase prices.
He warned that the Islamic Emirate would take action against anyone who harms the people by such practices.
