MoEW need 10b Afs to conduct 411 water projects

KABUL (Agencies): Deputy Minister of Energy and Water, Mujib-ur Rahman Umar Akhandzada says that the Ministry of Energy and Water needs more than ten billion Afghanis to conduct 411 water projects in 1402.
The Ministry of Energy and Water, sharing its annual reports with media today, Monday, said: “These projects include micro and macro dams, water control dams, and canals, reinforcement of retaining walls, strengthening of underground water, development of the water project.
Developing the Panjshir river to connected with the Kabul river and maintenance and care of water facilities are the priorities of this ministry’s work plan, the Ministry officials said.
In the supply of drinkable water in Kabul, he said: “To prevent water consumption, the management of underground water and the strengthening of water supply networks are working on plans, so that the problems of the citizens of Kabul regarding the lack of drinking water will be addressed and to solve this problem better and sooner, the work on the projects of Shah and Arous Dams, Shah Tut Dam and Panjshir Darya continues with sincerity.
In this press conference, the head of energy and water Engineer. Rafiullah Stanakzai said 80 percent of Kabul’s electricity is imported and the rest is supplied from Sarobi and Naghlo dams.
According to him, 700 megawatts of electricity are needed to supply power to Kabul, but currently, only 350 megawatts of electricity are in the electricity supply networks in Kabul.
