ISLAMABAD: Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC) Chairman General Nadeem Raza has said Pakistan will not compromise on its nuclear program as a guarantee of integrity against the defence of the motherland.
According to local news channel report, General Nadeem Raza addressed a seminar “Regional Environment and Imperatives of Security” at the NUST Institute of Policy Studies (NIPS) on Monday.
Gen Nadeem who is also the Deputy Chairman of the National Command Authority (NCA) has said Pakistan’s nuclear program has the support of the people and all political parties.
He said the civilian and military leadership stand firm behind the NCA’s strategic program as Pakistan’s national security and safety mechanisms comply with all national and international regulations against all types of threats. Pakistan’s national security is indivisible, he added.
The JCSC Chairman said Pakistan is a responsible and confident nuclear country and pursuing the policy of ‘Full Spectrum Deterrence’.
NCA Deputy Chairman General Nadeem said baseless and unnecessary comments on the strategic program should be avoided at all costs as only the NCA is authorized to respond to it like the norms in other nuke-states if needed.
In the seminar, students, academics and distinguished experts participated.
