Pak army’s role hailed

GILGIT: Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman has appreciated the Pak army among other rescue teams for launching prompt rescue and relief operations into Darel tragedy and retrieving trapped people under debris of landslide.

Presiding over a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, the GB CM also said the former prime minister had announced special package for Shuhdai Giyari under which their heirs would be given jobs from scale one to 15, adding FCNA would provide list of heirs of Shuhdai Giyari hailing from underdevelopment areas of Gilgit Baltistan.

He said only one member of the victim family would be eligible for the job and his nomination would be endorsed by FCNA, adding during recruitment process, educational qualifications and other relevant documents would be scrutinized in accordance with rules and regulations of recruitment policy.

He said Sadpara dam was very vital for the Gilgit Baltistan therefore monthly funds of Sadpara and Power complex was being raised to Rs 6 million, adding the government had established endowment funds in education, health besides other sectors to provide people better facilities.

He said investment committee had been constituted to ensuring transparency for better and transparent utilization of funds. He said that Construction wood policy had been approved and transparency would be ensured in its implementation.
