Pakistan records 54 corona deaths in last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has recorded 54 more coronavirus deaths and 1,308 infections during the last 24 hours (Monday), showed the data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Tuesday morning.

As per the NCOC figures, after the addition of 54 new deaths, the overall toll has now surged to 27,947 whereas the number of total infections now stood at 1,252,656 after adding the fresh 1,308 cases.

During the last 24 hours (Monday), a total of 48,907 tests were conducted throughout Pakistan whereas the positivity ratio stood at 2.67 percent. The number of patients in critical care was 3,110.

During the last 24 hours (Monday), as many as 1,634 patients have recovered from the virus whereas the total recoveries stood at 1,178,883. As of Tuesday, the total count of active cases in the country was recorded at 45,826.

As many as 460,748 coronavirus cases have so far been confirmed in Sindh, 433,687 in Punjab, 174,841 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 105,801 in Islamabad, 32,992 in Balochistan, 34,253 in Azad Kashmir and 10,334 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Moreover, 12,712 individuals have lost their lives to the pandemic in Punjab so far, 7,442 in Sindh, 5,583 in KP, 929 in Islamabad, 738 in Azad Kashmir, 349 in Balochistan and 186 in Gilgit Baltistan.
