‘Some politicians want to abolish the 18th amendment’

TIMERGARA:  Awami National Party spokesman and former senator Zahid Khan on Sunday said that some of the politicians wanted to abolish the 18th amendment that guaranteed provincial autonomy. Addressing a party joining gathering Muslimabad Timergara he said it was the 18th amendment under which Rs 7 billion were sanctioned for supply of gas to Lower Dir.

Dozens of families’ heads affiliated with JI, PTI and PPP on the occasion announced to join the ANP. Zahid Khan presented red caps to the new entrants.

The ANP leader said that natural gas would be provided to every nook and corner of Lower Dir till 2020.

He said that Rao Anwar, the killer of innocent Naqeebullah Mehsud had not been arrested so far which was a question mark on the Sindh government and law enforcement agencies. He also raised fingers on honesty of PTI chief Imran Khan and said the documents of his residence at Bani Gala were proved fake but the judiciary had been doing nothing against him.

“Imran is not sincere with Pukhtun as he is eying on Punjab,” he said, adding that 18 MPAs of the PTI had been sold in the senate election but the part chief had silenced the matter.

The ANP leader also criticized the JI leadership and alleged it had kept the district in darks for decades. He said no mega development project could be initiated b this government in the area.

The ANP nominated candidate for provincial assembly Mukhtiar Khan, Imran Takur, Haji Sher Zaman and others also addressed the gathering.
